Wesley Signori Doyle thinks #24HrDub is a great start to the New Year!

Wesley Doyle is a 26 year old actor from Ballymun, Dublin. He has been involved in performing since the age of 12. He is also a a big practitioner of martial arts as a hobby. Since 15 years old he has been lucky enough to play the role of Doug Ferguson in RTE’s soap drama Fair City. He tells us that he is over the moon to be invited to join the cast of The 24 Hour Plays in aid of Dublin Youth Theatre supported by BNP Paribas Real Estate. He reckons it’s a great start to the New Year. Well said, Wes!

Introduce yourself please. You can even describe yourself in the style of a chat show host describing your whole complex life in two sentences if you are feeling like a life-affirming challenge.

I’m a young open minded and ambitious performer from Ballymun who is always up for any challenge in life.

Have you participated in The 24 Hour Plays in aid of Dublin Youth Theatre before? If yes what is your fondest/ most nightmare causing memories? If no what are you looking forward to/ terrified of?

No. I am looking forward to the buzz of it all and meeting new people as well as gaining even much more experience in what I love doing.

When you were a teenager what was your greatest interest?

Acting, Martial Arts and Dancing. (Uh-oh Wes you shouldn’t have mentioned the dancing. If our playwrights don’t get you, the Dancing with the Stars researchers will!!)

If you could work on any film or play with anyone living or dead what production and who would it be? Why?

Would have to be enter the Dragon starring Bruce Lee, because he is my number one all time hero and I feel I would have learned a lot from him in so many ways.

If you could time travel would you go forward or back and why?

Well time travel is both interesting and complicated but to be honest overall I think I would prefer to just live in the moment.

You can catch Wesley in Fair City on RTE and RTEPlayer and of course at The 24 Hour Plays in aid of Dublin Youth Theatre supported by BNP Paribas Real Estate on Sunday 28th January. Tickets available online or call Abbey Theatre Box Office on  (01) 87 87 222.
