  • We kicked off by asking Aoibheann McCaul's full name. We weren't disappointed. We love the big names here in #24HrDub HQ. We love it when folks come back to take part in The 24 Hours Plays in aid of Dublin Youth Theatre supported by BNP Paribas Real Estate. It means that which didn't kill them made them stronger. Not only is the bould Aoibheann McCaul back for more, she also volunteered behind the scenes on the production team last year and at the last minute too. What a super trooper. Apart from #24HrDub you might know her from her work in television on Irish favourites Fair City and Hardy Bucks.  Our featured picture above is a photo taken of Aoibheann as part

  • Welcome to the innermost thoughts of Dagmar Döring. Okay innermost when it comes to tiger herding on boats and time travel. You might know Dagmar as Nina Lawlor in RTÉ's Fair City but I know her as the woman who introduced me to the concept of treppenwitz. And I thank her. Introduce yourself please. You can even describe yourself in the style of a chat show host describing your whole complex life in two sentences if you are feeling like a life-affirming challenge. I'm a half-German Dubliner who spent over ten years in London pretending to be other people for money. Now I'm back in Dublin and I'm still pretending to be other people for money, currently on the most

  • I'm having great fun rustling up the Q&As of the 2016 Creative Team for The 24 Hour Plays in aid of Dublin Youth Theatre supported by BNP Paribas Real Estate. I am realising, however, I will never be one of the writers. I couldn't bear the pressure unlike today's subject, Lee Coffey, who reckons it is what will get him through the night of January 30th to write a play by 6am on January 31st. That attitude and his lightning reflexes from years of playing video games should do the trick. Find out more about Lee online or read on, my friend!  In exciting news just announced this week, Rough Magic have chosen Lee as one of five artists to

  • Peter Campion, actor

Today the spotlight is on Peter Campion, actor. A lot of what Peter shares here resonates with me, not least his experience of acting with a cat. Some DYTers of my era will remember poor oul' Conchubhar the cat in The Girls of Summer who took method acting to the nth degree. His fate in the play was to depart this mortal coil which he did in real life halfway through the run, as I recall. The show went on. I wonder where his handmade plush stand-in ended up... Back to Peter! Check out his showreel online and read on! Introduce yourself please. You can even describe yourself as your favourite teacher might if asked today what you were like in

  • We certainly hope that Denis Conway's granny is right. Denis reckons she would define him as indefatigable, an essential character trait for anyone participating in The 24 Hour Plays in aid of Dublin Youth Theatre supported by BNP Paribas Real Estate. Denis is not only an experienced actor on stage and screen he is also the Artistic Director of Ourobos Theatre Company. Introduce yourself please. You can even describe yourself as your granny would. My Granny would have defined me as indefatigable. I keep getting up after being knocked down. Good preparation for life as an actor I would say. Have you participated in The 24 Hour Plays in aid of Dublin Youth Theatre before? If yes what is your fondest/
